PEACOCK NETWORK TOPS ALL BROADCAST AND CABLE NETWORKS WITH 14 STATUETTES AT CREATIVE ARTS AWARDS

"THE WEST WING" LEADS ALL SERIES WITH FOUR
"FRASIER" TOP COMEDY WITH TWO

NBC, the top nominated network in the 52nd Annual Emmy competition, took an early lead by capturing 14 statuettes at the Creative Arts Awards which were held Saturday night at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, Calif. NBC's wins, spearheaded by "The West Wing," once again tops all other broadcast or cable networks.

"The West Wing" won four out of a possible seven Emmys to become the leading series in either comedy drama categories. Perennial Emmy favorite "Frasier" topped all comedy series with two awards out of a possible four.

Emmys in 27 other categories including outstanding series, lead actor/actress, supporting actor/actress, writers and directors will be presented at the 2000 Primetime Emmy Awards which will be telecast Sunday, Sept. 10, live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
